The videos below, documenting the spray drift from the vineyards of Riebeek Kasteel, were filmed between 2004  & 2009.

The were used as evidence to show that when the adjacent vineyards were sprayed, that large clouds of toxic spray drift blew out of the vineyards and into the residential area.

This evidence was used to obtain a successful  HIGH COURT ORDER, in the CAPE HIGH Court, against the farm / farmer concerned, interdicting him from spraying his vineyards in an unlawful manner. 

Despite the HIGH COURT ORDER , the farm/farmer continued to spray in a manner that resulted in clouds of highly toxic spray drift blowing out of the vineyards and into the residential area, in contempt of not only the HIGH COURT ORDER but also in contravention to Act36 of 1947 and thus the law, making such spraying a criminal offence under the law. 

The Schirmacher family needed to document the fact that the farmer in question was not following the terms and conditions of the HIGH COURT ORDER and was continuing to spray his vineyards in an unlawful manner. The only way to do this, was to film the unlawful spraying from the confines of the Schirmacher property in Riebeek Kasteel.   The videos below  ( these are only a few - there are many more)  show the extent of the spray drift.
